AIRPORTS AND TRAVEL

John Wayne Airport (SNA) Located in the middle of Orange County and 20 to 30 minutes from our studio and most of the county. With m than 20 direct flights daily, SNA has plenty of amenities without the big crowds. Easy in, easy out! 
Los Angeles International (LAX) 45 minutes to one hour away from the Mayu Silk Art studio. LAX is Southern California's largest domestic and international hub.
Long Beach Airport (LGB) This little-known airport is a great option with service from major airlines, including JetBlue, Delta, Southwest, and American Airlines. Located just 20-30 minutes north of the Mayu Silk Art studio, with easy access to the transportation hubs, Long Beach Harbor and the Port of Los Angeles.

PLACES TO STAY

We haven't actually stayed in any of these places, but they look pretty good to us!

Here is the info I have collected on local lodging options.  

Our students have stayed in a variety of hotels and AirBnB places. I can't really give a personal recommendation , but here are some suggestions for those who are lodging in the area:

Recommended in February 2024 by one of our guests, this AirBnb is a private, brand new, pet-friendly guesthouse near Huntington State Beach. Fully stocked kitchen, 2 Bd, 2 ba, sleeps 4. https://abnb.me/yV5eotcmMHb

Try looking up "The Nest" - it was recommended by one of our students, and is only a five minute drive from the studio. Sleeps 3. The host's name is Adela.

Economy hotels close to the studio:
The closest lodging is the Extended Stay America* (walking distance), and the next nearest is The Best Western Westminster Inn*.

Economy hotel close to the ocean:
If you want to be closer to the ocean, and not far from the studio, you might want to go for the Travelodge Ocean Front*. It is nothing fancy, but they have free wifi, free parking, and continental breakfast. And, well, it is literally right on the beach. You can also walk the Bolsa Chica Wildlife Reserve, if you are into that.  Also close to a few eateries, Huntington Harbor, and more. I think it about 3.5 miles from the studio.

Chic hotel close to shopping, with free shuttle to John Wayne Airport and Disneyland:
The Hotel Huntington* has good reviews and is close to many restaurants and shops. 

Luxury Hotels:
The Hyatt Regency* is probably the hands-down favorite, but there are many others, some of which are closer to the studio than the Hyatt. You might want to look into hotels in Seal Beach, which is not far away and less congested than the very popular downtown Huntington Beach area.

If you are flying into Long Beach Airport:
You might want to try Surf City Inn in Seal Beach (also near plenty of eateries, the beach, and not too far from the studio).
