CLASS DESCRIPTIONThis unique class is taught by our founder and artistic director, Star McCain, with additional input from our Operations & Sales Director, Phil, and occasionally other marblers or business experts. Class registration includes up to 24 hours of group and individual time PLUS up to 8 hours of consultation time at no additional cost, over the next 6 months, as well as other opportunities for continued learning.*
Class times will generally run from 9:00am to 5:30 pm, with a lunch break, but we are flexible and actual dates/times can be tweaked to fit the needs of the class participants. In-person class includes one lunch out (on us) at a local restaurant. *Up to 8 hours of personal or group consultation time is offered, to be completed over the next 6 months. This "banked" time may be accomplished in a variety of ways, including student/teacher forums and chat sessions, face to face meetings or phone or video conferencing, help in setting up your website or studio, or taking an additional day of class during a future session. Each class is specially tailored to the individual interests of the participants. Additional evening activities or opportunities to work a party or other event with us may also be offered. CLASS LOCATION The Mayu Silk Art studio warehouse (AKA, World Headquarters) 5192 Bolsa Ave, Huntington Beach CA 92649 Who? YOU!! The real magic of this art form is that literally anyone can do it, and we believe the same is true when it comes to setting up a water marbling business, as long as you have the right tools, guidance, and understanding of this specific type of business. A word on the Novel Coronavirus At this time, we have no plans to cancel or postpone any of our public or private events, per the Orange County Department of Health recommendations. The Mayu Silk Art studio is a low risk environment. Scarf painting is not a contact sport, and the Mayu Silk Art offers lots of space and fresh air. We do ask all of our guests and staff to observe guidelines for personal safety (we provide plenty of soap and water for washing hands, and disposable masks and gloves are always available). Here's the fine print:
*No need to wait for a class to be scheduled - just let us know which dates work best for you (either 3 or 4 days in a row, or two weekends in a row), and we'll see if we can make it work!
*Upon payment of your $500 deposit, we will reserve a spot for you in our upcoming class. The deposit will be credited toward the total cost of the program, and the full balance will be due no later than 10 days prior to the event. (unless prior arrangement have been made with us, you must pay your registration in full by the specified deadline in order to receive the early bird discount).
** If for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know at least 3 weeks (21 days) before the scheduled class date, and we will be happy to refund your pre-paid deposit or class registration fees, minus a processing fee of $25.
If you must cancel less than 21 days prior to the event, any monies previously paid by you may be applied to the cost of a future class or program.
*** Mayu Silk Art LLC cannot promise or limit your success; that will be entirely up to you. Likewise, there is no guarantee of income resulting from this course. Participants will not be allowed any rights to the name Mayu Silk Art or to any of our intellectual or real property. A non-disclosure agreement will be required prior to the taking of the course.
*** Consultation time is limited to 8 hours total over a 6 month period, and consultation will typically be conducted by phone or email but could include in-person training or other assistance in setting up your business or home studio.
